The Malaysian Customs Department (“RMCD”) is imposing a Tourism Tax on guest at the sum of MYR 10 nett per room per night with effect from 1st September 2017. This tax will be collected at the resort respectively.

A jewel-like tiny island in the Sulu Sea, a 1.5 hour boat rides north of Sandakan; Lankayan has been declared part of an immense Marine Protected Area to adopt the eco-tourism concept. Unpopulated and covered by thick tropical island vegetation on its topside, this peaceful, untouched little bit of paradise is ringed by an endless pure white sandy beach, offering simply elegant and exquisite accommodation in all 23 wooden, roomy and perfectly appointed seafront chalets.

While the ideal destination for those who search for tranquility and relaxation in a virgin natural setting and for families with children, Lankayan Island is also becoming one of the hottest diving destinations on the map today: its dive sites – all just a few minutes away – boasting unbelievably colorful macro, fauna, fascinating wrecks and in season from March to May, regular sightings of gigantic and harmless whale sharks, the “dream date ” of every diver in the world.

Situated within the Sea Turtle Corridor, Lankayan Island is also a nesting place and foraging ground for sea turtles; most commonly Green and Hawksbill Turtle. Therefore, guests will have a chance to see turtles nesting as well as new hatchlings of baby turtles released to the sea especially in season from June to September.

Boat Schedule

PSR Jetty to Lankayan Island – 10 am
Lankayan Island to PSR Jetty – 7 am
** Resort provide land & boat transfer on the check‐in and checkout day only.

This tour rate is vacation rate (non-divers rate), should you participate in diving:

3 daily boat dives, except arrival & departure day.
Unlimited house reef dive in front of LANKAYAN Dive Centre, this is an unguided dive & must be accompanied by buddy.
Boat, tanks, weight and weight belts are provided.

Tour Itinerary

1st Day
– Recommend to take the earlist domestic flight from Kota Kinabalu to Sandakan.
– As soon as you arrive Sandakan, our representative will be at the airport to meet/transfer you to Sandakan PSR Jetty by bus/van (approx. 35 minutes).
– Leave Sandakan PSR Jetty for Lankayan Island by boat.
– Boat will take approximately 1 hour 45 minutes depending on the sea/weather condition that day.

2nd Day
– Free and leisure. Enjoy the nature and peaceful on island.
– If you are diver, there will be 3 boat dives, and unlimited dives in front of Lankayan dive centre with own dive buddy.
– Note: Number of dive depends on flight departure the next day. (Please bear in mind of requirement for the surface internal before flight the next day)

3rd Day
06:00am – Check out and transfer to Sandakan PSR Jetty.
– Optional guided tour to the Orang Utan Sepilok Rehabilitation Centre (not include entrance fee).
– Transfer back to Sandakan airport or your respective hotel.
